Todd McKean is Founder, Non-Executive Director and Member of the Board of NarrowGate Services International Ltd. Todd has spent close to 20 years living, studying, and working in China.

As early as the late 1980’s, Todd researched the issue of China Labor and its related economic impacts. In the early 1990s, Todd started his professional track record in China at Nike International, a market leader in social and environmental compliance. At Nike, Todd was part of the team that built Nike International’s Labor Compliance Department and has been a leader in the wider industry. In addition to his China expertise, Todd has been responsible for staff and compliance work in over 50 countries, and has a thorough understanding of brand management and brand risk alleviation.

Following his role as Global Director of Nike’s Labor Compliance Division in their Oregon, USA headquarters, Todd returned to China with a vision to help Chinese factories move beyond basic compliance monitoring. As a result he founded NarrowGate in 2002, bringing value-added services in compliance remediation and program development to factories and assurance and trust to global brands. Todd is presently General Manager for Trek China, a post he accepted following NarrowGate’s successful feasibility study guiding Trek on strategies for entering China’s retail market.
